It was a little windier today so we didn’t go as far west as we often do, but it didn’t matter as we saw a raft of sea otters just as we left Hardy Bay.
As we cruised through some of the more protected passages among the local islands we came across our first humpback whale of the day. We watched a number of dive sequences before moving on to a sheltered cove for lunch.
After lunch we visited two sea lion haul outs before finding more humpback whales. With the help of the Marine Education and Research Society we were able to identify two of the humpback whales we saw today as Cutter and Graffiti.
In addition to marine mammals lots of sea birds, like rhinoceros auklets, and bald eagles were seen
