The last few days have been a bit windy but today was much calmer and the wildlife viewing was fantastic, We had at least nine different humpback whales spotted, dozens of sea otters, hundreds of sea lions, and loads of fishing bald eagles.
Our most reliably sighted humpback whale this season has been “Graffiti” and it was the first one spotted today. Other humpback whales included Galaxy, Hook, Nippy and her calf, and Tag. Nippy’s calf and another smaller whale were very acrobatic with over 20 beaches seen and lots of pectoral slapping and tail lobbing.
We have sent more photos to the Marine Education and Research Society to help identify the other whales seen.
